Quick Trip to Montgomery

Friday night we made a quick trip down to Montgomery to watch Seth and Emily in their Jamboree. It was really good cute. The theme was " Going to the Movies" and their social groups did Pocahontas. Ellie had the best time watching the show too. She clapped and and danced along with everybody else!
Here are some pictures.

Our trip was short but fun!
It was our first time to go.
Matt really enjoyed it too... he said he would have gone back the second night and watched it again!

11 months

Today is my beautiful Ellie Reese's 11 month birthday!
I cannot believe that in one short month she will be 1!
I look at other babies that are one and they look older than her to me.
She still looks like such a baby to me.
I guess that she didn't want me to think she was growing up too fast so just for me she woke up 5 times last night! I know! Just like a newborn...thanks Miss L!
We have started planning her birthday party and it going to be SO cute.
It is going to be a Tea Party!
Now we only have a few weeks to get ready for it.
Here are some things we don't want to forget about you at 11 months
* Your obsession with Jack. If you are fussy it always makes you so happy to go and visit Jack.
The other day she was in the mud room where Jacks pen is and she was just laughing. I walked in there and she had undone Jack's pen and they were playing on the floor. Ahh!
*The way you are so interested in your surroundings. You want to know about everything that is going on!
* How you have learned to open cabinets and drawers...oh what a mess you can make!
* How soft your sweet cheeks are when I kiss them. I could just eat them up!
* The oh so sweet rolls on your arms! Now that she is wearing more short sleeves I love seeing her chunky little arms.
* Your love for the outdoors. I think you could eat, sleep and play outside every single day!
* The way you have started to talk so much. She is not so much babbling instead now its sounds like she is really talking. We just have now figured out your language yet!
She does say Dada, Gac( Jack), Yay, Uh oh, Mmm, and Mama.
* The way you are learning to walk! She is doing so good at taking steps. She is still very cautious though. She would rather crawl though because she know she can get there faster ( and safer) by crawling.
* Your sweet and oh so beautiful smile. It just melts my heart everytime I see it!
I love you to the moon and back sweet little girl!

First Trip to the Zoo!

Yesterday we took out very first trip to the zoo!
We had lots of fun. We also got a membership so I know we will be back many more times.
It was nice going and not trying to see everything all in one day.
The weather was perfect too!
We had a picnic lunch outside the zoo then went in and explored for a little while.
Ellie got all geared up to go with her new sunglasses!
How cute is she!?!

Three sweet girls eating lunch.

**************************************************

One of the first things we saw was the Kangaroos.
There were pretty lazy but one did get up and hop across the grass.
Ellie kept yelling "Gac, Gac!" ( That is how she calls our dog Jack)
I guess she thought they kinda looked like him :)

This picture is of Ellie and Jenna watching the Kangaroos sleep.

Another stop was to see the birds.

Anna Claire had fun feeding them.

She had two birds eating from her cup and she said " Look they are twins!"

Ellie did not really know what to think. She was kind of in lala land.

I had a bird that sat on my shoulder for like 5 minutes and I could not get her to look at me to see the birds. I am sure she would have LOVED it if she would have SEEN it!

We did not stay with the birds very long because one pooped on my shoes and I was ready to get the heck out of the bird cage!

We had fun seeing everything.

Ellie fell asleep about half way through our trip so she did not get to see all the animals but I am

sure we will be back very soon!

Mimi

Tomorrow would have been my Mimi's 82 birthday.
It is still so hard for me to believe that she has almost been gone for two whole years.
Sometimes when I see cars like the one she drove I still look and make sure it is not her.
It's crazy really...
And sometimes I think...gosh I need to call Mimi and then I remember she gone.
I think the saddest thing...the thing that makes my heart ache so is thinking that Ellie will never get to meet my sweet Mimi. She will never be able to hear her cackle laugh or taste her fried dressing or watch her make beautiful things on her sewing machine.
We can always tell Ellie stories about our Mimi...but it will never be the same.
After Mimi died...at her funeral I had SO many people come up to me and tell me what an amazing person she was. Everybody had something different to tell me about what she had done for them or what she had made for them or a prayer group they were in together or a bible study they were doing together. It was special for people to tell me this but it also made me even more sad about her being gone because I realized she was an even more amazing women of God than I had known. It was just overwhelming to me how many people's lives she impacted.
So tomorrow I will think about my Mimi and I will miss her so much.
I will wish so, so badly that we could be together eating lunch and going to Old Time Pottery to celebrate her birthday.
And I will be telling my sweet Ellie about her Mimi's birthday and how I wish so badly they could have known eachother.

Come on Spring!

Who is ready for spring?!?

We are!

With all this beautiful weather we have been having around here we have definitely caught Spring fever! We are ready for Spring to get here and stay!
We have been playing outside every-single-day, wearing short sleeves and I even bought some ice cream the other day because it felt like an ice cream kind of night with the weather!
I also noticed this morning when I was driving to work that some of the trees were starting to bloom and I have started to see daffodils on the side of the road!

I sure hope the Winter weather is gone for good!

Easily Entertained

The other day Matt and I went car seat shopping with Miss Ellie.
She had so much fun!
She found a "secret passage" from one side of the shelf to the other and you would have thought she discovered a pile of gold!
She was SO happy and proud of herself.
She crawled back and forth for at least 20 minutes!
It was a great way to occupy her while we decided on a bigger seat for Miss L.

Sunshine Time

The past few days have just been beautiful so we have been outside having some sunshine time!

Ellie LOVES our new deck that Matt built in the fall.
She loves to climb up the stairs then try to figure out how to get back down them...
There is no telling how many pairs of pants she is going to ruin crawling around outside this spring!

On Wednesday I had some bulbs to plant...so she stayed close by to supervise (and climb the stairs)!

But after a while she got bored so...she started eating grass and mulch...

We decided to stop and take a swinging break to get our minds off eating stuff!

( If you look close enough you can probably see grass still in her mouth!)

But like all good thing...it had to come to an end...and Miss Ellie let me know when she had had enough!
