Around here

Things have been pretty crazy busy around here. I was looking through my camera roll tonight over the past few weeks and the photos have been looking like this.

We are getting so close now... It's like I can taste it.
Matt started laying the hardwood floors yesterday. We are hoping and planning to at least move into our room by next weekend!!!! 🎉🎉🎉  With that excitement... along with spring being just around the corner... I don't know if I can contain my excitement :)

I'm not sure how the girls will feel about not being in their new room the same time we are in ours but I am so over this tiny bedroom we are squeezed in that I could scream.

Some days

I was looking back through my pictures and saw this one from Febuary 15, 2015
That was only one year ago. So much has changed in one year it just makes my heart hurt.

Right after this weekend we spent in Starkvile, Grandaddy went into the hospital and never fully recovered after that.

Some days I just have the hardest time realizing that he is really gone.

And that all the memories we have with him are just that...Memories and we will never really have him back.

This year and last

Looking back at Valentine's and seeing how much my sweet Valentines have grown and changed in just one year.

Last year

This year

Happy ❤️Day

We had a fun Valentine's Day and Valentine week full of fun and love.

The girls both had Valentine's parties and got lots of goodies that they have been snacking on...

This was Ellie's first year to make a Valentine's box to collect her Valentine's in. I think I was a little more excited about it than she was.

We did some Valentine's baking...

And some Valentine's goody giving ❤️

And the girls were thrilled to wake up on heart day to find fun little goodies from the two people that love them the most

The s word

The s word

The day after we got home from our trip we had snow talk here!!
The morning forecast looked like this.

We had a lot of flurries but no accumulation at all. The girls ran around trying to catch some snowflakes on their tongues ❄️😄

As the springtime gets closer and closer the chances of us having a good snow this year looks more and more slim 😁

Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe

First stop of on our trip was Las Vegas.
We stayed at the Encore which was part of the Wynn. It was very nice but a LONG walk from lots of things. We never made it past Cesar's Palace and that only happened once 😄

We are lots of yummy food. The first place we ate was a Chinese place for lunch. They had the BEST fried rice I have ever put in my mouth. It was so light and delicious.

We walked a ton. Just to get out of our hotel was a hike but a very beautiful hike because we passed lots of beautiful things like this!

Another very exciting thing we did was eat at one of our favorite restaurant. Mesa grill by Bobby Flay. We have eaten here once and also the one in Atlantis...it is delicious.

We also ate at a buffet in Cesar Palace. It was one of the largest most extravagant buffets I have ever seen. It had just about everything you could ask for. I told Matt that we spent the longest time eating than we have ever spent. We both eat very fast and staying there for a hour means we ate a lot.

On Friday we flew over to Reno, NV and drove into California to Lake Tahoe. The drive was absolutely beautiful. The snow, the lake, the trees... Just beautiful.

That night we settled into our cabin and went to get some supper. We are ate at an old pizza place and ate a pepper pizza. The pizza was great. Matt declared it was the best he had ever eaten... Except for mine of course 😄

The next day we went snow skiing. It had been 7 years... So it was interesting but lots of fun.

On Sunday we very sorely woke up and got going. We went sight seeing for a bit. We saw Tahoe city and squall valley. Are some lunch and walked around the lake.

Then we went snowmobiling. It was such an adventure and SO much fun.

The only things would have changed was bring two little kiddos along with us. Next time for sure!!

100 day

Ellie's class has been counting down and looking forward to their 100tg day of school.
I took a trip to the thrift store and came up with this outfit and thought it turned out great 😂
What a cute 100 year old lady

Ice skating

Saturday we went to a ice skating birthday party. The girls just love ice skating and the idea of ice skating.

They talk about it often but have only been once ( on pretend ice) sobtheybwere auper excited to try it again and for real!
