It won't be long...

It won't be long before this little peanut starts crawling!

Lately she has been getting up on all fours and just rocking back and forth...

She looks like she is ready to rock and roll!

She looks so proud of herself when she does it, but it like she is thinking...OK now what do I do?!...

Seafood Festival and Beach

This past weekend we went down to the beach for one last beach trip for the year...maybe.

We went to the Seafood Festival in Pensacoola. It was lots of fun, but it was SO hot. It was down in the old, historical part of the city and was close to the water so I was thinking it was going to be cooler, but I thought wrong!

The food was really good. They had about 1/2 block lined with all kinds of seafood. I had the hardest time trying to decide what to eat. I ended up getting a salad with a crab make on top and it was wonderful!

Here is Miss E in her stroller at the Festival. She was really good the whole time even though it is burning up!

That afternoon when we got home I blew up her baby pool and let her play in it....she loved it!

On Saturday we woke up and it was raining so we had to wait around for it to stop and the sun to come out...

This is what Matt and Ellie did while we waited...

We went to eat at The Shrimp Basket before going out to the beach...it was so good!

Ellie loves playing with paper so whenever she starts getting antsy we just give her some paper to play with and she is a happy baby!

Ellie flying with her Papa...she loves doing this...

At the beach I put sunscreen on her for the first time. It made her hair do some funny stuff!

Matt and Ellie got in the water. I had a hard time telling if she really liked it because she would never smile, but she didn't cry either...she was just kind of unsure.

One thing she was sure of was her pool. She absolutely loves it!

We stayed out at the beach for about 2 hrs then headed back to the house to do some shopping (me) and watch the game (Matt and Ellie).

Oh No...

Miss Ellie has learned how much fun the dishwasher can be....now every time I open it it she comes right on over in her walker to "help" me. She hasn't figured our how to pull stuff out yet but I am sure that is coming. For now she just grabs hold of the rack and shakes it back and forth as hard as she can.

Party Time!

This weekend I had to work and Matt kept Ellie. On Saturday they went to Anna-Claire's birthday party at Chick-Fil-A. It was a princess party....so I am sure they had a great time! Matt said that Ellie ate cake...and of course she loved it. I have a feeling that she is going to have a major sweet tooth just like her momma! Ellie wore her pink tutu and my sister Ashley made her a monogrammed princess crown to wear at the party. Matt didn't make any pictures at the party, but I put her tutu back on when I got home and made a few pictures, minus the princess crown because I am not sure where Matt has stuffed it.

Here are some pictures below...

Ellie's Love

Ellie's newest love is our new coffee table / ottoman. She thinks its the best thing in the world! She love holding onto it like a big girl in the picture above. She loves crawling around underneath it (except for when she gets stuck under it, then she cries out). And she loves, loves, loves licking it! I know it is really strange...I had a hard time getting this picture because all the other ones her mouth was on the leather.

Mommy's Helper

The other night I was folding clothes in Ellie's room and she decided she was going to help me!

She loved eating all of her clean clothes...

What a silly little girl she is!

Thanks for all your help little Miss L

Dove Shoot and Football

This weekend Matt woke up early and went up to Cullman for a dove shoot. Ellie and I met him up there for lunch. We had a good time, but it was really, really hot!

Ellie waiting outside for Mamaw to come and pick us up.

Matt, Ellie and her Papa

On our way home from Cullman we stopped and went shopping for a new coffee table. I love our old coffee table but it has lots of sharp edges and there is some glass in it, so I would be way too scared for Ellie to be around it. We finally found one at Garden Ridge. It is not exactly what it wanted but we have been looking for a long, long time and we had looked at this one before, so I figured it would work. I really like it because it doesn't have any sharp edges. It opens up too so it will be good to store Ellie's toys in.

This is Ellie and her cousin Jenna. Miss Ellie and Miss Jenna both loved holding onto the new coffee table. I couldn't get Ellie to look up because she was too busy licking it!

Ashley and her family and my mom came over to watch the game. Matt cooked wings for the first time and they were really good...He did a great job!

Ellie posing in her Alabama shirt. I had to put in on her because I got it at Matt's "Daddy Shower" and I knew he would love it. She looks like she is cheering them on!

Cousins

The other day Jamie, Rileigh and River came into town. Jamie had something she had to do so Ashley and I watched Rileigh and River. Ellie was so excited to get to see her cousins!

As soon as we walked in the door at Ashley's house Rileigh and River were there to greet us! They loved Ellie! They loved get getting up in her face and just smiling. River kept on saying "See Ellie" It was really sweet.

Ellie's face looks a little unsure though...

Rileigh giving kisses to Miss Ellie

Jenna woke up and was kind of fussy. I think Ellie was trying to comfort her.

The three girls. I finally got a picture where they were all looking in the same direction! It was so sweet to see them all together. I just know that they are going to love growing up together. They are going to be best friends!

5 Months

Miss Ellie turned 5 months on the 6th of this month! I cannot believe that she is growing so fast. It seems like just the other day we were waiting for her to be born. She is getting SO big. The other day Matt got on the scale with her and we think she weighed about 18 lbs! She is wearing 9 month clothes and there are a few 12 months that fit her too.

Here are some things we don't want to forget about you at 5 month...
~ The way you have started to hold your own bottle. You are such a big girl!
~ Your sweet slimy kisses
~ The way you have started to push yourself up with your hands and up on your tippy toes. I don't think it will be too long before you start crawling
~The sweet way you fall asleep when mommy rocks you
~ The way you love your exersaucer...Your daddy says you act like you are taking care of business when you are in there!
~How you have started to sit up...with a little support
~ The way you love to smile at everybody that talks to you
~ How you rub your sweet little eyes when you get sleepy
~ The funny faces you make when we try to feed you your baby food

The other night Matt and Ellie where laying on our bed playing and she started pulling Matt's hair. She did think too much of it until Matt started yelling, then she thought it was pretty funny! I think Matt's face is so funny in this picture. He looks like its really hurting him!

We love you so much Ellie Reese.
You are such a sweet blessing from God and we are so lucky to be your parents and watch you grow!

Happy Birthday

Last Friday was my birthday and it was such a nice day! I was off work so that made it even better! I went to go eat lunch at Tazikis with my momma, sister, Matt and Ellie. I had my favorite, chicken roll up with cucumber salad...yum! After lunch me, Momma, and Ellie went to Do It Yourself Crafts in Homewood. I made a silver necklace with Ellie's fingerprint on the back...it is so sweet! After that we went and walked around downtown Homewood for a little while and found a silver chain to put it on. Before we left Homewood we stopped and got some yogurt at Tutti Frutti Yogurt and it was delicious. It was one on those yogurt places where you add whatever toppings you want to your yogurt...I could crazy in that place! Matt met me and Ellie at the house when we got home and we went by the hospital to see Ellie's new friend, Helen Camille who was born the day before. Miss Ellie did not think too much of little miss Helen...Ellie fussed the whole time that we were in the hospital room. So we didn't visit for long, but we were glad that we got to stop by and meet her. We left the hospital and went to eat supper at our favorite restaurant, Carrabbas. By the time we sat down, Ellie was starting to get a little tired and fussy so Matt and I took turns eating. I passed Ellie over to Matt and he lifted her up in the air to play and she spit up all over him! The look on his face was priceless. I could barely help him get himself cleaned up because I was laughing so hard. So I guess he will not be doing that again anytime soon!

Homemade Oatmeal Cookies

Yesterday our neighbor has knee surgery so I thought it would be a good idea to make cookies. I usually make and LOVE chocolate cookies, but for some reason I decided to make oatmeal instead. I and glad that I did because they were delicious! I only made one batch because I knew I would eat way too many if I made two batches. I did have some left over after I filled up the plate for our neighbor, so I got to eat a few. Matt must have really like them too because he brought the rest for breakfast this morning.

Homemade Oatmeal Cookies

1 1/4 cup butter

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1 t. vanilla

1 1/2 cup all purpose flour

1 t. baking soda

1 t. salt

3 cups oatmeal

Preheat oven to 375.

Beat butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour soda and salt in separate bowl. Add to butter mixture. Mix well. Stir in oats. Bake 8-9 minutes for chewy and 10-11 minutes for crispy.

Hope you enjoy~
