Saturday Fun

I just LOVE Saturdays. They are my favorite day of the week. I wish we could have more of them. I especially love Saturdays in December. There is always so much to do and everything is so festive and fun!!

This last Saturday we celebrated a cousin birthday party...
It was fun for the cousins because they got to play and be silly and it was fun for the sisters because they got to visit and laugh

Sweet boy and his party hat...

Lots and lots of cousins everywhere

After the birthday party we left and Ellie and AC and Jenna went to a party / performance with Grumps.  Annie was suppose to go and we tried to leave here but got called back because she refused to stay.

While the big kids partied with Grumps we went and did a little shopping in Homewood...

We ended the night with a yummy supper of shrimp and grits... one of our new favorites 😀

A week of celebrations!!

Our week was full of fun, exciting Christmas celebrations!!!

We had the Trussville Christmas parade which the girls always LOVE!! It was pretty cold this year so we had to work to stay warm but it was still lots of fun..

Ellie had dress up day at school this week. She was a Christmas tree 🎄

We made and ate lots of gingerbread men... that were delicious 😋 And we have that on our list to make again because they were gone way to fast

Ellie had dress up like a Christmas movie and decided on Rudolph and looked super cute!!

Annie had her class party and decorated gingerbread houses... she had such a sweet little class and is so social so it's always fun to go to school and see her there

Annie had her Christmas concert at school and did wonderful!!  She was so cute and SO serious about her singing. She knew all the hand motions.

Ellie had her Christmas program and she did wonderful... it was a cute little program followed by a snack brunch...

Then the same day Ellie had her Christmas party...
They had pizza and cupcakes and decorated Christmas trees and opened presents. It was fun and sweet to see ellienthere with her friends.

Then we had all our cousins over for our annual "cousins and cookies""

All was wild and fun with lots of sugar to top it off 😁

A visit with Santa

We went to Bass Pro Friday evening to see Santa Clause. We waited for a while but there was plenty for the kids to do and so the wait wasn't that painful. Everybody was smiling... at least somewhat and nobody had any tears!

3 months old

This sweet little boy was 3 months old on the 25th of November.  It seems like time went to slow when I was pregnant and ready to meet him but now the days just fly by.

He is full of drama and can wear you out but those sweet smiles and baby coos make up for it all...

Here are some things we want to remember about you at 3 months...
* your sweet, happy, gummy smile. Your whole face just lights up
* your soft sweet skin. It's so new and sweet.
* the way you love to talk and be talked to. You are very social and will pitch a fit if you think you are being left out.
* your favorite place in the whole house is the laundry room with the dryer on. It's your happy place
* how you love to see what is going on around you. You want to make sure that you don't miss a things.
* your sweet ears... they are so cute to me.
* your many many rolls.. they are just the sweetest

We love you so much Henry James...

This and that...

Not sure what has gotten into my little guy but he has been a little fussier and harder to console than normal....
Sometimes when all the rocking and sshhhing and singing doesn't work you just have to stop and take a picture... right?!

Every time I pick Annie up from school she ask me to take a picture on this and I never have my phone but I remembered it yesterday and she was thrilled!!

We had to catch a kiss on these sweet squishy cheeks...

When you don't want your sister to leave for school you hold onto her arm and make sure she can't get up 😀
Henry just LOVES his sisters. He looked like a big kid sitting with them this morning 💗

My real live little red riding hood...
She makes me smile!!

Cousin time

We had a new cousin and just couldn't wait to meet her... all 5 pounds 4 ounces of her. She was just the tiniest, sweetest little thing and didn't make a peep the whole time we were there. Henry and Evelynn are 3 months apart but he looks humongous in this picture next to her.

After we left Annie said she had an idea " Let's eat cheese dip" We all agrees that sounded like a great idea...
so we ate some Mexican and danced with Santa...

This weekend

We have the Christmas spirit around here and are counting down the days until Santa comes. This time of year never seems like it last long enough...

Friday we met our cousins and did a little Christmas shopping and lunch. Friday night we had Matts work Christmas party. This year was Elf edition...

These girls had a great time running around and playing but they both agreed it was to late for them to stay up once we got home...

Saturday morning Matt went hunting and we stayed at home... I stayed in my pajamas until 3pm which is something I never ever do but I kind of liked it.

Saturday evening, Henry stayed with aunt Melissa and we took the girls to see the new Disney movie. They both really liked it and have been singing the song since then.

Sunday morning we went to church then we went looking for a mattress. We looked at Sams first.... and wore this little guy out there...

Then we went to the mattress store and found one!!we have looked and talked about getting one since Ellie was born so we were excited!!

Sunday afternoon we hung around the house and Henry watched Elf for the first time 😀

Sunday night we had a little Christmas party dinner with our small group...

" it's the most wonderful time of the year"

Happy Birthday

Tuesday was Awmaws birthday...
The girls were SO excited that they were invited 😀

We took food to their old house that had just sold to celebrate one last time... it was a sweet time.
We are so thankful for Cindy. She is so special to our family and we hope she had a great day.

And of course I had to take one last picture in front of the fire place. Something about leaving a house that has been a part of you and your family for so long just gets me... I don't know.  Maybe the holidays just has me over emotional...
Anyway now there is a sweet picture to go with the memories 😀

So maybe now I'm done with the overly emotional post...
Happy Friday!!

Christmas Memories

Every time I talk about Christmas this year the words to one of my favorite Christmas songs by Alabama comes to my mind. I have always know that things would change and not ever stay the same. There are so many things that have changed for the better but there have been many many sad changes lately too. It makes me so happy and thankful to have the memories.

Christmas Memories by Alabama
There's a blanket of snow coverin' up the old road to the house where I was raised
Through the window I see the lights on the tree and a glow from the old fireplace
Though it all looks the same so much as changed from the way it used to be
Christmas memories of happy years gone by
They come back to me and keep me warm inside
Still those Christmas memories make me cry
Now the stockings are filled; the house is still and the kids are dreamin' away
There's that old easy chair, me and Daddy sat there waitin' for Santa's sleigh
Now Daddy's gone but we carry on 'cause the little ones will need...
Christmas memories of happy years gone by
They come back to me and keep me warm inside
Oh they mean so much to me
Those Christmas memories make me cry
