Sweet sisters.

These two beautiful faces make my heart full of joy every day.
I hope and pray so often that they will continue to stay sweet and loving to each other and their momma and daddy. Lately I have seen and heard of so many heartbreaking stories where children grow up and chose sad, dark paths. I look at these sweet beautiful faces and just cry out to God that he will protect them and lead them in His ways.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

I did it!!

While we were in Starkville Matt felt the urge to get his hair trimmed. I told him that I was up for the challenge.
The challenge I had in mind was a trim here and a trim there. An hour and a half later when I am still trimming away I decided I had signed up for more than I originally thought.

But the end results look pretty good... If I do say so myself :)

Last week...

I am ready for things to be caught up around here... Hence the title :)

On my shopping trip to Publix last week I found this glorious stuff. I love love love this stuff☺️ and was so excited to get some but was a little disappointed because they did not have decaf as well. Oh well. I will just be super caffeinated 😳

Ellie's class pet turtle Truman spent te week with us last week. She has been so excited about this and has been counting down the days for him to come visit us.

We went to Starkville this weekend to visit Granny. Truman came along of course and we had to get a picture by the MSU sign.

We had a good visit with Granny even though it was a rainy and wet visit. We have been trying to get over there and could lot find a good weekend so we went even though it was yucky.

The girls looked so cute the other day going to school that I had to get a few pictures. They can be so sweet to each other sometimes.

While they were away at school I did some painting on the addition. This rainy weather has kind of put a hold on our progress ( that and the time change) I am so ready to see some progress so I rolled up my sleeves to get things moving again 😉

Annie adores lipstick. She is always asking me for it. Matt HATES her to have it so I think that makes her want it even more.

She was cheesin it up for me with her sassy pink lips.

Halloween

Yes I know Halloween has come and gone. But I am playing catch up :)

Jasmine and our good little witch were so excited about this spooky day...

Aren't they just the cutest?!?

We had toake a few visits before trick or treating. We stopped to see Maggie all dressed up in her Olaf costume. Ellie loved it and Maggie did not and was out of it in just a few seconds.

Annie with her Papaw...

By the time we made it around to trick or treat it was raining but we put on our rain coats and went anyways.

It was WET but fun and it was totally worth it when Ellie said " this was the best Halloween ever"

Annual Cousin Carving Get Together

Last Thursday...

We had all our cousins...

Spooky, yet yummy food...

And lots of pumpkins to carve...

All for our annual cousin carving get together...

Dress up x 2

Last week was busy filled with fun Halloween, fallish things.

Last Thursday's dress up day for both of these girls was no exception.

Annie was just character dress up day... So it was a free for all. And of course she picked her all time fav... Sophia

It was Ellies 50th day of school so she dressed up 50s style... Poodle skirt and all. She said they had a grand day. Lots of candy and a dance party to top it off.

Gadsden for the afternoon.

Matt had a job to look at near Gadsden one day last week and the girls and I went along for the scenic ride ( even though it was in the rain)

After the job we went to see Nocalula Falls. We have been wanting to take the girls up there to see it as well at see if for ourselves...

It was wet but it was fun.

And their favorite part was jumping in the HUGE water puddles that were created by the rocks.

After visiting the waterfall, we went to get some supper at Top of the River.

The girls always enjoy eating here and that makes it more fun for mommy and daddy 😄

Now that was a great afternoon...

Disney on Ice

Last weekend the girls went to Disney of Ice with Awmaw and Emi. They were so excited for this ...

On th day of they got all dressed up and loved every second of it. While I was fixing their hair and doing their makeup annie saw the mascara and said " I can't use that... I'm just Ellies little sister " ☺️

Annie girl as Elsa

Ellie as Ariel

And a group shot...

Ellie got a rose from Tiana and was pretty pleased with herself

And of course I had to look back at the last time they visited Disney on Ice. Annie was too little to go and ellie was just about Annies age now. So. Hard. To. Believe.

Pumpkin Carving

Tuesday after lunch I went to Ellies class to help them carve pumpkins ❤️

She had been telling me all week that I was coming to table 1 and that was her table :) oh how I love that little bit.

She was the only girl at table 1. Her and one other little boy were all into getting the pumpkin cleaned out. The other two boys would not have anything to do with it.
They had a pumpkin investigation and calculated the length, weight and number of seeds that their pumpkin had. Some of their "calculations" made me laugh.

We used a carving kit... And they turned out great!!

Hooray for table 1!!
