Our Little Ladybug

This past Sunday night was the fall festival at our church.
We were so excited about bringing Miss Ellie to her very first fall festival.
Last fall festival I was pregnant with her so it was so to have her with us this year!
She dressed up as a ladybug and she was SO adorable!
Above is a picture we took at home before we left for the festival.

This was me and L at the festival in the "tot zone"

She had fun just playing on the floor watching the other kids play

This costume cracked me up once I finally put it on her.
It had all this extra padding around her stomach...
Like she really needs that!
She was so funny in it.
She couldn't fall over when she was sitting up....
Instead she just rolled from sitting to stomach.
It was so funny!

We put her in the costume contest and she won!
Her Momma was so proud!
And so was so...
She just loved chewing on her trophy!

Rodeo

Saturday we woke up early and got ready to go to the Dusty Bottoms Rodeo.
We went to eat breakfast a Legends and it was so good.
Above is Miss Ellie at breakfast.
I tired to give her a bite of my grits and she acted like I was trying to feed
her poop! She has the worst look on her face!
Here are some of the animals that were at the rodeo.
This little baby cow kept on mooing really loud...
Everytime he did it Ellie looked up at us like we were
making that noise!

Here she is watching the sheep and baby cows

She was very interested in the animals.
I think that she is going to be an animal lover.
She just LOVES our dog Jack.
She will just sit and watch him all day long!

The rodeo was really fun to go and see since none of
us had ever been to a rodeo or anything like one.
It was neat too because they were children participating in it.
Maybe one day Little Miss Ellie will barrel race and wrangle
baby cow...who knows?!

Pink Party

Yesterday we went to the 2nd Annual Pink Luncheon at Matt's work.
This is a wonderful fundraiser that my mother in law started last year in order to raise money for breast cancer research since she has fought breast cancer...and WON!
Everything was decorated so nice and the food was wonderful but the best part is...
over $6,000 was raised for breast cancer research.

Me and my sister made matching pink ribbon shirts for the girls to wear.
Here is Miss Ellie in her shirt (which you can't really see) with her pink boa ( which she LOVED by the way)

This is Me, Emily(Sister- in-law), Ellie, and Cindy( mother-in-law)

Me, Ellie and Aunt Em before the party started

The theme of the party this year was fight like a girl.
It was really cute.
On the center piece of the table there were a pair of pink boxing gloves...
I didn't even know they made pink boxing gloves.
We put Ellie and her cousin Jenna on the table and let them fight like girls with the gloves.
I had a really cute picture of them but I just accidentally deleted it off this page....
Anyway..it was super cute though.
It was a fun but busy day.
Miss Ellie was very good.
She was passed around all day long, but she didn't seem to care too much...
I think she had fun visiting with everybody and seeing ALL that PINK!

Blue Jean Baby

Yesterday Miss Priss wore her first pair of blue jean and they were so cute!

I could resist taking a few pictures of my sweet little Ellie-Bellie in her jeans.

Riding Horses and Pumpkin Patch

Weekend before last we had a very adventurous day. We went to ride the new horses and went to the pumpkin patch!

Miss Ellie did great the entire day.
She slept in the car and was awake and happy for the fun activities.
Here she is in her new pumpkin outfit.
She is ready for a fun day!

Miss L is on the boy horse with her daddy

Daddy and Ellie sitting on the horse ( I forgot to get the horse's face too...oops)

Matt and Ellie posing for pictures at the pumpkin patch.
It was so pretty out there but it was really warm too.
And we also forgot the stroller because we brought Matt's truck so we had to tote Miss Ellie around and that made it feel even warmer!

Ellie Reese

Headed out to find our pumpkin

We found it!

This was the hayride back to the car.
Ellie was talking to the other kids in the wagon...it was so sweet.

Apparently we picked out the perfect pumpkin for Jack too because when we got home and put it outside Jack had chewed off part of the stem! He must have known that that is my favorite part of the pumpkin! Crazy dog...

6 Months

On the 6th of this month our sweet baby girl turned 6 months old. I absolutely cannot believe that she is already 1/2 of a year old. I can't believe that it was 6 months ago that I held her in my arms for the first time and kissed her sweet little face for the first time...That not too long ago she was the size of all these newborns that we have been seeing. Oh my sweet little baby girl... I love you so much!
They really do grow so fast.
We went to the doctor for her 6 month check up and he said she looked great... but we already knew that!

Her 6 month stats were
- Weight= 19.4 (95th percentile)
- Length= 27 inches (88th percentile)
- Head = 17 inches

Here are some things we don't want to forget about you at 6 months
- The way you are so curious about your surroundings, I can tell you are going to be a very nosy little girl with lots and lots of questions
- The way you like to hold mommies hand when you eat, it is so sweet
- The way you scoot all over the place on your belly
- How you laugh out loud, it just melts my heart
- The way you get up on all fours and rock back and forth. This makes you so happy.
- The way you love to play patty cake, pick-a-boo, and trot little horsey
- How you love your walker and love exploring through the house in it
- How you LOVE Jack and love to hold onto his fur
- How you are so amazed and curious when we bring you outside
- Your sweet, busy little hands
- How you have started to dance
- Your obsession with paper

You are growing up so fast!
My sweet little Ellie - Belly Reesie- Roo I do love you!

Back in Business

My computer has been at Best Buys for the last week because it had a virus and we are so happy to finally have it back. I am not really sure what took them so long to get it fixed but they sent me an email to tell me it was ready to pick up...how stupid are they...they have my computer...where I check my email. Anyways...I am happy to have it back but I did get a good bit of stuff done around the house last week when I didn't have the computer as a distraction.

6 Month Pictures

Last week we went to the Botanical Gardens to have Miss Ellie's 6 month pictures made.

Our sweet friend Kim Lancaster-Brantley met us there and took them for us.

They turned out so sweet!

Ellie did such a good job... she didn't get fussy until the very end.

Playing at the Park

The other day Ellie went to the park for the first time. I figured since the weather was cooling off and she has been sitting up by herself she might could enjoy a few things at the park. We spent alot of time just sitting and playing on the blanket, but she did try out the swing for a little while (after I wiped the entire thing down with disinfecting wipes) and she really liked it.

Here are some pictures below

Hanging out on the blanket

Anna-Claire had fun playing Ellie's toys too

These two girls had a good time swinging

Miss Ellie loved it!

She also loved playing with her sweet cousins!
We will be going back soon

Weirdo

Our dog Jack apparently loves bananas and the peeling too...I know this is weird!

Since it was such a beautiful day today Ellie and I sat outside while I ate lunch.

Jack was bound and determined that he was going to eat some of my food too so...

I let him try part of my banana because I thought he wouldn't like it but he did like it...ALOT.

So the peel was on my plate and he ran by and picked this up and ate it too...

Here he is chowing down...

By the way...Ellie still loves Jack even though he scared her the other day.

Here she is trying to get to him and he is trying to kiss her...gross.

By the time these two got done playing I had to bring Miss E in to get herself a bath!

Apple Purse

The other night I felt like cooking something good and sweet so for some reason I decided to make an apple purse.
My mom use to make these when we were little and we would pour milk over them and eat them.
I have never made them but for some strange reason I got the urge to make one.
When Matt got home from work he wanted to know what they were so I told them.
He said " why have you never made these in the 10 years I have known you?"
And the answer is...I don't know...but I will make them again soon because they were good with ice cream on top!

Before Cooking

After Cooking

So all you need is puff pastry, a whole apple peeled and cored, sugar, butter, and cinnamon

I put the apple in the middle of the pastry with butter, cinnamon, and sugar, then wrapped the pastry around the apple and the of course sprinkled more cinnamon and sugar on top. Then I baked on 350 until the puff pastry was brown / done and served with vanilla ice cream on top!

Happy Fall

We are SO happy that the weather has finally cooled off and now we are able to start doing some things outside...
Ellie loves being outside so much.
One of her favorite things to do is to sit outside on a blanket and play and watch our dog Jack run around the yard and act crazy. She thinks that Jack is the funniest thing in the world. She will sit outside and watch him forever.

Here are some pics of her hanging outside this weekend...

Jack LOVES us being out there too. When I lay the blanket out he think that it is for him and he just lays down on it and rolls all around on it.
He really likes Ellie too but even though he is 3 years old he is still VERY hyper and he makes me nervous around her but she has never acted scared of him at all....until the other night.
He came running and sat down next to her and was being so sweet. Ellie got excited about something and let out a scream and he jumped up and bumped her forehead with his nose and she lost it.
I don't think that it hurt her...I am sure it just scared but I am sure she will forget about it and will continue to love him.
