I walked into the living room the other day and Ellie had Matt's glasses on and was sitting in the chair reading the paper. I asked her why she had her daddy's glasses on and she said she needed them to see the paper :)

Swimming Play Date
We had a fun time on Friday swimming with our friends at their new house!
Ellie and Blair
My sweet little fish :)
First Day of School!
Thursday was Miss Ellie's first day of Mother's Day Out!
She looks so big!!!
After meeting her new teacher and going to her new classroom I was a little worried about how she would act when I dropped her off. She started telling me when we went down the hallway that she didn't want this room and didn't like that room. Finally we came to her new room and she was not happy about it at all...
But as soon as she heard the words " Lets Paint" from her new teacher...her attitude changed completely.
She told me when I picked her up " I had good day with Ms Teri, Mommy"
We left school and got some ice cream to celebrate her good day.
I was looking back at pictures from her first day last year...
She looks so little.
It is so crazy what a difference a year makes!

Meet the teacher
Today was Ellie's meet the teacher at school.
I have been telling her for the past few weeks that she was starting school soon and she would have a new teacher and a new class. She has been very excited about going back to school!
I had to take a few pictures of her before we headed to school.
She looks so cute...
I could just eat her eat her up...
Here she was in her new classroom.
She really liked playing in the classroom and she even had a few kids in her class this year from last year which I doubt she even realizes that :)
When we started to get ready to go I told her that we would go by and see Ms Genetta and her old classroom and she started saying " I not like dis room...I wanna go to my oder room....I not like dis teacher." I guess I should have just kept my mouth shut :)
Tomorrow is her first day so we will see how she will do... I sure it will be great!!!
Homemade Biscotti
I made some homemade biscotti the other day and it was delicious.
Ellie has even enjoyed snacking on it but it has chocolate in it so that doesn't shock me :)
You can find the recipe here if you want to try it out!
I did substitute the cranberries and pistachios for chocolate chips and almonds and I will probably add a little extra of the chocolate chips when I made them again.

Small Group at the Lake
This past weekend we had our small group friends up to the lake for the day
We had a good group and a great time swimming, tubing, skiing, riding the jet ski, and eating of course!!
Riding Bikes
Ellie got a bike for her birthday and loves it but we don't have a great place for her to ride it.
She wants to do it all by herself and for the most part she can so we took her down to the park and let her ride in the empty parking lot there and she did great!
We knew the park would be a MAJOR distraction for this sweet little two year old so we did not spend as much time practicing our riding as we did swinging, sliding and running
Good Luck Uncel Seth!!!
We went to visit Uncle Seth in his new classroom last week and
TODAY is his first day teaching!!!!
We know he will do great!
Good Luck Uncle Seth!!

Little Bitty
Sweet, little bitty
Ellie Bellie.
I cannot get over how little she looks in this picture and I really cannot believe that there will be another one of this in just a few weeks. I cannot wait to get my hands on our sweet little Annie :)
Missed Her
Somebody had a great weekend away at the beach with her Aunt Em and Mawmaw...
She was gone for 4 days and 3 nights.
It was strangely quiet and clean around here.
We were so happy to see our little bit when she got home monday night...
Even though she was a little rotton the next day :)
We ate gingerbread men to celebrate!

First Haircut
I had a hair appointment last week and Ellie came along with me and had her very first haircut!
It was really just a trim because she had one part that was growing longer and faster than all the rest.
Everybody kept asking me if I was sad about having it cut trimmed and I was just a little but I knew she was still be the same little, sweet Ellie.
She did great. She climbed right up in the chair and sat there all by herself...like such a big girl.
That made me a little sad.
Here she was before...
She was so still and concentrated
And this is her after picture.
It looks so cute!
She was pretty pleased with herself too!
Splash Pad Fun...Finally
Since the very beginning of the summer I have been planning and wanting to take Ellie to the splash pad in Springville. We even made a trip out there only to find out it wasnt open that day. Anyways... we finally went and she loved it!
She had a great time running, laughing and splashing with her cousins!

Cooking Like Crazy
The past two weeks me and Ellie have been cooking like cRaZy.
I have been wanting to cook alot of different things to freeze to have when Annie gets here and now our freezer is ready for Annie too :)
One day my Mom and I made spaghetti. It turned out really really good!
Another day Me, Ellie, Cindy and Emily canned tomatoes, pasta sauce, vegetable soup and made stuffed pasta shells to freeze. I think we had a total of 38 cans and stuffed about 90 shells. I havent tested any of that food yet but I am sure it is all great!
And on our last day Ellie and I put up about 10 different meals. We made chicken spaghetti, chicken marsala, italian pie, and chicken quesadillas. I hope that they are as good as they smelled!

Chattanooga
Saturday we went up to spend the day in Chattanooga.
We had been wanting to something fun and special with Ellie before Annie came and we had a great day. Ellie was great and loved seeing all
the fish and playing with the water.
When we came into the city we showed her the water and the big mountain and she went "HHHAAA" she seemed very impressed with it :)
We ate lunch at Taco Mamacita.
It was different than just Mexican but it was really good.
Matt and I both got tacos and Ellie ate corn salad and chips and a chewy :)
After that we headed over to the aquarium.
We went to the Ocean Journey first.
After the first building we took a break.
We decided to let Ellie wade and splash in the water.
She had a great time....
then it ended up being a swim instead of a wade...
and it ended like this :)
We did not bring a towel or anything to dry off with but lucky for us it was 95 degrees outside so it did not take long to drip dry.
We headed over to Ben and Jerry's to get some ice cream so Matt and I could cool off... since we couldn't strip down like miss Ellie.
Then we headed back to the aquarium for the River Journey..
After the aquarium we were exhausted.
Ellie fell asleep in about 2 minutes after we put her in her car seat...
We were planning on going to the top of the mountain but we also wanted Ellie to get a nap.
We drove up the mountain and it didn't take long so we thought we would sit in the car for a few minutes and let Ellie get a nap in. Well Matt and I both fell asleep while we were waiting for Ellie to sleep and woke up about 30 minutes! ha!
It was raining when we woke up so we didn't get out of the car...we just drove back down the mountain :)
We decided to head back home
We stopped to eat in Gadsden at Top O The River.
I know...eating fish after seeing all those fish...but the food was great
and we just told Ellie it was chicken.
