Blackberries and Coke

Our neighbor Steve ( aka flagman by some people) shared his blackberry bush with us.

He is growing blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries.

Ellie ate all the raspberries as he picked them...but we came home with two big bowls of blackberries.

We have already made one cobbler and it was delicious and we have enough to make another one...and that makes me really excited because blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream is my very favorite!

On a different note... Ellie loves coke.

She ask me for it to drink in her sippy cup alot. I tell her that we don't drink coke in our sippy cup only water, milk and juice...then she starts saying something about Aunt Em and coke. So I am starting to put the two together :)

Anyways, I do let me have a few drinks of mine and it just makes her SO happy!

She finished this one off for me.

Then she was laughing at the sound it made when she was slurping up the last little bit...

Silly girl :)

Weekend at the Lake

We spent a long weekend at the lake with Matt's family.

I was looking back at pictures from Memorial Day last year and it is just crazy how much Ellie has changed in just one short year.  She looked like such a baby and now she is looking like such a little girl. It makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Ellie just loved swimming in the lake.

She would not jump off the pier yet but I doubt it will be long before she is doing that!

She just loves boats and going on boat rides.

Actually...I think she just like anything that goes.

The other day we were in Lowe's and she saw a lady on a motorized wheelchair and she looked at the lady and said " me ride?"

She thought she wanted to float in the tube with Em but did not care for it AT ALL once she got in.

She loved floating on the float and swimming with Uncle Seth...

When I told her we had to go home she said " No me home"

I told her that she and her Daddy were going to do something fun when we got home and she said "K!"

Then I said " What are y'all going to do that is fun?"

Then she said " Pishing! ( Fishing)"

He is teaching her at an early age :)

Monday night we met to eat and celebrate Uncle Seth's 26th Birthday.

I had to take a few pics of Ellie too since she was looking so cute :)

The only way she would smile or even look in the right direction for a picture with Seth was if she was bribed with candy...and even that did not work well....oh well!

Dog Daze

We had fun spending Friday night at Dog Daze Festival in Trussville.

They had a band, good food and lots of stuff for the kids to do.

Ellie spent just about the whole night on the slide.

Rileigh joined her for the sliding fun!



They also took a few trips around the mall on the racecars...



Matt looks like he is having so much fun he can hardly contain himself :)

Nursery Pics

We have been working to get little Miss Annie's room ready.

I know it will be a while until she makes her grand appearance but it makes me feel so much better to get it done while I still feel like doing it. It is not done yet... it still needs a few things to dress it up but here it is so far...

This dresser was in my room when I was growing up.

I just sanded it down and put an expresso stain on it.

I thought it turned out so pretty.

I love the chandelier.

Matt said when we were going into Lowe's that he didn't want anything too girly...

The crib is the same brand as Ellie's and looks alot like Ellie's.

I want to get a softer, cuter fitted sheet for the bed... maybe with a pattern on it just to mix things up a little bit. Also, my sister is going to help me make some pictures to put above the crib like

I saw some really cute letters from Pottery Barn that I wanted to order the A and M in but they were on back order until July and I know it would drive me crazy not having it done so I just made my own. They are not Pottery Barn but I thought they turned out pretty cute. The J is metal and I just spray painted it white. The changing table was Ellie's. We took it out of her room and replaced it with a bookshelf. She was pretty happy with the switch :)

We also got the chair but I forgot to take a picture of it...

I still have more things I want to get done in there but I feel like we have a pretty good start!
